First time modding a bass need some guidance

I've been having a few issues with my main bass lately (2004ish MIM Fender P special) the screws on the bridge that set the height of the E string keep backing themselves out every time I get into the music and play it harder. That said I decided I want a new bridge to get rid of that problem.

I will be having the work done at a local shop to make sure everything is done right. The plan for now is:

New pickups; SD quarter pounders p uppers and the J bridge pickup
New bridge; no clue what is good for a reasonable price or what will fit with this bass so if you have any ideas throw them at me.
While they're doing that work I will have them fully set it up to make sure the truss rod is correct as well. Then restring it and play the heck out of it.

Biggest question is, what bridge should I go with and are those pickups worth it on this bass, will I notice a difference from the factory pickups or not so much? Also if there's anything I'm missing that would be worth my while to replace while they're tearing into it, I'd rather not go through this twice because I forgot something.
