First Time Recording From Amp - Bit Of Advice Please!

Going into the studio tomorrow to record our bands' new EP.

Previous studios have always DI'd me, a sound I've not always been happy with.

However, tomorrow's engineer has told me that he likes to mic up the amps, so I'm hoping for something a little different.

Silly question - do I need to take my extension cab? Or is the combo alone sufficient for mic'ing?

whatever plays best at lower volumes? take as little as you can.

Bring the cab. It won't hurt to have a little more flexibility.
