Fishman Platinum EQ

Is there anyone else out there that uses a Fishman Platinum EQ for electric bass guitar as well as double bass? I do b/c I think the Fishman compressor is the best, only compressing the mids and not the highs and lows. I play electric through a Carvin BX500 into 2 Bergantino AE112's and I can never seem to get the tone I'm looking for out of the Carvin by itself.

Pluses & minuses graciously accepted.

In general I like the Fishman - not for the compressor though. In my case it's the depth control & phase switch. I generally use it with a Tacoma ABG. I'm going to give the Radial Bassbone a shot again as I want to go back to having two basses cabled.

One of those is a pretty hot, slightly dark Barker Brio. The other is the Tacoma. that one is passive as I replaced the stock 2 band Baggs system with a K&K. Sweet tonally but not a lot much output. I'm hoping the Radial will balance the two well.

If it works out well, I'll be going from the Radial to an Avalon U5. It will be an interesting test of the Radial to hear the differences between straight into the U5 or through the Radial.

Back to the Fishman - works pretty well on acoustic guitars even though it is voiced for bass. IME - the less you use the EQ on the Fishman, the better.
