Double Bass Fishman Platinum Pro vs Zoom Ac2/Ac3 vs LR Baggs

I have an EUB with a passive pickup, and was using a Behringer AD2 acoustic pedal(which I already had). It worked well unti I hit a room and a volume that the piezo pickup didn't like.

So I start using a Zoom A2(already had too),the predecessor to the AC2. It was made for acoustic guitar.
I did a setting of a Gibson Jumbo mod and eq'd it. It has a notch filter that I haven't had to use yet but figure it should work ok when I get that howling note againg.

My question is since I must have a preamp with this EUB, would I be better off getting something more or less designed to accommodate upright bass such as the Fishman Platinum Pro or the zoom ac2? Or would the acoustic pedal I'm using be sufficient? Anyone had experience witg
Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated... thanks!

I'm sorry, the EUB is an NS DESIGN NXT4, whatever passive pickup they were using at the time.
I miswrote, the pedal is a Behringer ADl21.

I've played with an EUB for a long time and never had problems with feedback.
If you play the EUB straight into the amp, what do you get?
The NXT4 already has a buffer circuitry so you can plug in anything if I'm not wrong.

I'm running into a Peavey Headliner with a 410 cab... goi g from amp to the board. We run subs but the person who's over our sound has the crossover off so too much of what should be routing to the subs is fed to the mains. They angle the speakers in more at that club than others so that could have been s main speaker causing that... oh, and its a corner stage.

I only had this happen that time with the howling note.

I use the older Fishman Platinum Pro (with the EQ sliders) for both EUB and DB. I have a new style Fishman Platinum Stage for backup that also works well, but has just basic EQ.

Good preamp EQ might be the most important thing for EUB, but if you're having feedback issues, the Fishman is what you want, since it has everything you'd need.

If you can reverse the phase of the signal with your preamp, maybe that'd be enough to get rid of the feedback.

If I understand your "howling note" correctly, you need a preamp with notch filter.

Some options:

• Radial PZ Pre or AC Driver
• Grace Design Alix or Felix
• LR Baggs Para DI
• Fishman Platinum Pro
• Headway EDB-2

You don't need a bass-specific preamp. Acoustic preamp should work just fine, IMHO.

I have encountered stages/rooms with certain resonating frequency with my NS Design NXT....even with my bass guitars. Solid body does not prevent that...
