fitting my body on my blank

I have a 36"x6"x2" slab of Purpleheart for a body that'll be a neck thru. I recently realized I'll need to re design from my planned Explorer project b/c the slab isn't wide enough to accomodate the shape. So, will a fenderbird or thunderbird fit? I know a P or J will fit, but I wanna deviate from the more common shapes a bit

this raises a good question.. does anyone know of a website or something where you can get a template of a "standard" body shape? i was looking for a telecaster template. maybe there is a place that has a measured drawing of a thunderbird and could quickly answer your question.
one option you may want to look into is adding some accent lams to the body wing / neck joint to add some width.
