It depends on the impedances. The head will not run safely below 4 ohms, so if EITHER of the cabs are 4 ohms, it is NOT safe to use them all together. However, if BOTH cabs are 8 ohms, you will be fine. Make sure you check the back of both cabinets before you buy.

Fixing to try out a Behringer UltraBass...

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I'll check the 15' to see if its 8 ohms. My 4x10 is, for sure.
Found an interesting re-furb at Bass Emporium today. Its an old guitar cab shell, loaded with four Ampeg 12's, and a NeoDymium magnet. They're asking a reasonable price.

I can't imagine I'd enjoy that, either. If I want to sound soft, I let my fingers take care of that. If I want to hit it hard and make it nasty, I don't want anything to keep my figners from taking care of *that*, either. Consistent attack/volume all the time would eventually make me come clean unwelded. Wait...scratch that "eventually". Replace it with "quickly".

I've run a Behringer Ultra bx1200 for nearly 5 years now. I've retired it to practice status lately only because I never loved the limiter,and I've always been a big amp kinda guy. Aside from that? No complaints, That little kickback fit in the back seat of my old BMW coupe, went with me to more gigs than I can recall, always worked, paid alot of bills,yet cost less than some effects pedals I've bought. Bottom line? those attributes beat anyone else's informed opinions for me. The Behringer company line is "Just Listen".
Well...so far...
I've been playing it through a Nady 15' PA speaker, here at home this morning. Playing along with YouTube videos turned up real loud.
I went ahead and played with a soft attack, a harder one, and outright slappin' that plank. Hard to tell through a PA speaker, but I don't think I triggered that limiter. Couldn't hear any difference, anyway.
I was so loud that my Mom's nurse, in the next room, felt me through the floor.
I'm taking jam house band duty tonight, as the regular guy is ill (diabetes complications...prayers going up for Chris). Jam leader's bringing the 15', and my husband is picking my 4x10 up from my drummer and will bring it with him. We'll try the whole stack tonight and see how she does.
I've had another offer, so if Jam Leader really wants to sell this thing to me, it better be good, and I will start bidding at $200 and see how high he tries to take it. My other offer will be meeting with me this weekend so I can try before I buy.

Practiced with the head all afternoon. If you leave the thing on for more than an hour or two, you can smell that "electrical thingie getting too hot" smell. So...it would have to be turned off every break. Doesn't take long to warm up...only a few seconds. But I could never just leave it on.

If you are just going to use it for practice it might be worth it. I would be afraid to use it as my main gigging amp unless I always had a back-up with me.
It actually performed well at the jam last night...even when we forgot to turn it off.
However...I still don't like the idea of a limiter I can't turn off.
I'm trying out the other rig on Saturday.
Jam leader mentioned my trying out the Behringer to my band. The were quite bitterly against me purchasing it, and went on to him at length with their objections. So, he assured me that I need not feel obligated to buy. He believes if I do buy the rig, my band will give me constant trouble about it, and that it might create more problems with them than its worth.
He said to just use the rig as long as I like, and return it when I find something I like better. He believes equipment should be used, instead of just sitting around in the living room.

As an aside...
He was extremely complimentary of my playing. I don't want to take the house band position permanently, as the guy who regularly does it has health problems, and this is the closest he can get to having a regular gig. I don't want to take it from him. But Jam Leader says that, when his regular band bassist can't make a gig, he would definitely like me to sit in when I'm available, and that he really enjoys playing with me, and his keyboardist seconded all that. SAH-WEEET!!!

Don't worry about the other band mates dissin' your gear. If what comes out is golden then they can't say a thing. When I had a behringer I never had any troubles. But I would keep a backup around just in case. No amp company has no problems!!!

While no amp is immune from the chance of failure I would still be concerned about behringer. Cherie, if you buy it just be prepared for alot of I told you so's from your bandmates if it fails. It is also possible that maybe it doesn't sound good to your bandmates and that is why don't want you to get it.

I believe they formed their opinion before she played. They had not yet hear her play through the rig.
I even stated for her to carry a backup. Especially being a Behringer she needs to have something ready. But it is not just Behringer that fails. We don't hear about other amps failing as much now do we?
For a while I had the Behringer head you're talking about. I got rid of it when I acquired a Markbass LMII. I am very glad to be rid of it. I sold it along with a couple of cabs to some frat boys who wanted a cheap house party music rig. I plugged my CD player output into a mono adapter and into the Behringer input, turned it up, and it sounded amazing for a mono CD player rig... But for bass guitar, it was always a struggle for me to get something approaching a useable and loud enough tone from it.

My bandmates were talking to the jam leader about this before I ever got there. The singer had to go home and study for her MBA classes, so she never heard me play through it. The drummer did hear me, though. But he just plain hates Behringer, so it wouldn't matter how it sounded. Its Behringer, and, therefore, he hates it, my precious.
It did sound very good, I must say. Using the head and the 15', the rig was much louder than my SWR head and my 4x10, and the sound was much richer and warmer, too. Another local bassist buddy showed up, so I had him come up and play a set, so I could really hear the rig. Sounded great, and we had to have him turn down, as the volume was overpowering.
I'll be trying out another rig on Saturday. A GK head and an Avatar cab. I'm betting it will sound better than the Behringer, and if/when it does, that will be the one I buy, most likely. If/when I do, my other head and my 4x10 can stay home and be practice/house jam gear. Which my husband and my drummer will really appreciate, since they have to help me carry that freakin' heavy 4x10 cab. LOL!

Yeah, our drummer subscribes to the belief that one should always buy top-of-the-line equipment. Well...champaigne taste is surely fine, but this ol' redneck gurl's got nuthin' but beer money. He can run out and buy me Ampeg or whatever if he wants, but I can't afford anything too fancy.
He's very prejudiced against Behringer...makes me think he had some real bad experience with their stuff. If I bring more Behringer stuff, he will be absolutely insufferable.
On Saturday, I'm trying out a GK head with an Avatar cab. If they beat the Behringer for volume and tone (and they likely will), I'll be buying them. Gonna have the cash on me, just in case I fall in love. LOL!

I'm going to check out that GK/Avatar rig, though. I'm thinking to go ahead and buy it. Jam leader isn't in a hurry to sell, and he has actually encouraged me to try the other rig, and says I will probably like it a lot better, and should consider buying it. He also says I can use the Behringer rig as long as I like, since it isn't getting used at his house.
So...perfect! I can buy the GK/Avatar, let the Behringer serve as house-jam rig until jam leader wants it back, and viola!, the planets align.
Gonna go ahead and save up for a Sansamp or some such, and wait for a good sale. My 2nd project guitarist had me use his wife's Peavy rig while jamming at his house, and got me to use some compression, to I could hear the difference. Oi, now I, like, *get it*!

I have a GK 1001RB11 that I really like. Do you know what model you are looking at? I don't think you will be sorry.
Will have to go back and check the e-mail...can't recall off the top of my head. But its plenty beefy...600w.
Yeah, I think I'll be happier with it, too, and will get no flack from my band over it, either.

I used a BX4500 for about a year and a half until my recent purchase of a GK 1001RB M2. Didn't have a lick of trouble out of it and now it's used as my b/u amp. Never used the cabs.
