Strings don't have mid bumps or scoops - there is no Physical mechanism that can accentuate mids, or that can take them away without taking away more of the treble. Strings have a rolloff in the high end - flats roll off a lot, and starting lower than rounds do. Stainless rounds roll off less than nickel ones, and the rolloff starts even higher.
If you want more mids, you want rounds - strings that don't roll off any of the mids. Then you EQ out whatever you don't want, which leaves the stuff you want to hear front and center. Likewise, if you want scooped mids (which means you still want to hear treble), you want rounds (soi the trble is there), and you eq out the mids that you don't want.
If you want low end, and some thump (but no upper mids or treble), THEN you want flats.
