Flats without silk ends?

All the flats I have tried have had the threaded silk ends and I'm just wondering if their are flats without that. It's a silly thing to worry about, but I hate how it looks and I don't like how it gets scraggly.

Fender flats have no silk on the thread ends.

I dont like the look of the silks either, so when I bought my Chromes, they had the blue/purple silks, but a little time and a sharp razor blade did the trick for me.
