Flats

I know there are alot of forums on this topic and I have read most of them thoroughly, however i wanted more of a personal recommendation.
I have a Japanese Fender Aerodyne P Bass that has Sadowsky flatrounds on it right now. Ive had them on for probably about 5 months or more and am thinking about changing them for either TI Flats, Chromes, or La Bellas. In a couple weeks I'm playing in a pit band for The Secret Garden which mainly has soft double bass type of music. However there are a few songs that require a punchy electric bass. I play rock and jazz as well so i guess what i really needs a versatile set of flatwounds. I'm leaning most towards the TI flats as everyone seems to love them and they sound very unique. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I've used all 3 and tend to favor the Chromes. The TIs were great--but I need more tension. The LaBellas are nice, too, and you can get them from Carvin for pretty cheap. They are not recommended for stringing through the bridge, however. I like the Chromes because they seem a bit brighter than the others. That is, they can cut through better, especially when you dig in.

Any help?

I'll throw in my recommendation for TI's, I find them to be very versatile. But I don't think you could go wrong with any of those. It's more about the feel, IME and IMO. If you like low tension, TI's are probably your best bet. If you like them stiffer, you may like the Chromes or LaBellas better.

I actually really like them. They feel great and have a great thump to them in my opinion. I just want to try a different brand as these are the only flatwounds i have ever used and everyone on this site seems to love TIs and/or Chromes ect. But anyway definitely give the Sadofskys a try there great strings and I may end up going back to them depending on how much i like the TIs. I can give you a comparison of the TIs and the Sadofskys in a few days when my TIs come in.
Did you have to do anything to your nut when you put the TIs on as they have lower gauges than usual strings?

Congrats on finding good strings! I recognize the feeling; I had a similar reaction when I put Hi Beams on my Fender Jazz for the first time. It was a great feeling. I recently put my like-new set of Chromes on my Squier Jazz and had that same joy.

The only experience I have with any of those strings mentioned is the Chromes. They do have quite a bit of top end. I'm hoping mine warm up soon. I'm excited to hear how they sound with my Jazz after I do the series/parallel switch.
