flatwound convert

Hey everyone. Just thought i'd post about todays experience.

I have been reading peoples posts about flatwounds and flatwounds vs roundwounds. Today i needed new strings for my music man so i decided to just try out some rotosound flats. From the first few minutes i had them on and playing at practice tonight I was totally converted. I dont think I can use rounds again after using flats. The Sound and feel are amazing.

I have been slowly converting over myself as of late. With 7 or 8 basses, you just don't do it all at once, especially since they are usually more expensive than rounds (I really like TI Jazz flats, not cheap). My 5 strings will continue to wear rounds since they are applicable to certain styles of music. Quite possibly one 4 string as well.
They are quite habit forming, are they not?

I started playing in 1976.
I've always loved the tone and feel of flats.
I remember in the 80's and 90's.
Everyone was using rounds. ( that was the sound)
I use to get crap all the time about my flatwound strung P-bass.
Flats have come back big, the last 6 or so years.
I'm now back in style.
