FLATWOUNDS QUESTIONS

I have only been plying for about 7 months and dont no much about strings. Here are my questions.

Is it ok to string flatwounds through the body? I heard somewhere that is bad for the strings.

How are flatwounds for slap and pop playing?

Thanks For the help!

LaBella says not to use their flats thought the body. I have used Chromes successfully. Search for threads on flats though body.

You can slap on flats, but it will sound much different than slapping on rounds. It depends on what sound you are going for.

I string D'Addario Chromes through the body of my 51ri P bass, it's the only option with the stock bridge. They sound and feel great, and they are bright with the tone full open, and real fat if you roll the tone off.
