NO. I will not put the Snake on the same level as Emmet and Floyd. The Riverbottom Nightmare Band are a bunch of punks. Trashing a music store disqualifies you from this poll.

Emmet. I’ve watched Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas several times a year every year since I was a little kid. It’s been a dream of mine to cover “River Bottom Nightmare Band” live one day. A dream that has as of yet gone unfulfilled…

I caught Emmett on "Austin City Limits" the other night...he was better when he was still drinking. Time has taken its toll: multiple DUI's, a handful of muskrats out-of-wedlock, the short stint in jail, and don't forget the IRS thingy.

He'll probably end his career doing a Nine Inch Nails cover.

Maybe different session players were The Electric Mayhem over the years? For “The Muppet Movie” soundtrack recorded in 1978 the drummers were Gary Mallaber & Jim Gordon. The bass players were Colin Cameron & Reinhold Press.

I can’t find any credits for the players on many other Muppets records online.

Yeah, I'm referring to whomever was the player for the original Muppet Show as they used the Jack Parr Orchestra for the music. After the show it was a rotating cast of players depending on who was doing the soundtrack.

It's because the Muppeteers were all right handed. They would perform the heads of each character with their right arms, leaving their left arms free to manage the marionette-like wands to move the hands of characters like Floyd & Kermit. Characters with "real" hands like Fozzie, Rowlf, Ernie (Ernie & Bert) & the Swedish Chef had the hands performed by two different people: the primary puppeteer performed the head and left arm, while a second puppeteer performed the right arm. Think about that the next time you watch Rowlf playing the piano or the Swedish Chef doing anything!
