I already have another plane on order and a several other RC cars and one Heli. It's an addiction. That latest money pit is our rockcrawlers. (notice the custom sponsor wheels) :) Were heading out to an event right now near Orlando. Should be fun.

My friend is a professional photographer. He is also an avid RC plane guy. He combined the two and got a professional camera rig for one of his planes. Now he gets paid huge money by Disney to photograph their property for surveying purposes and other things...

I know a guy that has a really serious video system on his heli. He bought it to take real estate footage but I don't think he's actually made any money at it :)

I'll be flying with a $100 camera that uses a $100 memory card. That's my limit, that's what I can afford to lose without crying :D

We have one of the largest RC Jet shows in the country right here in my home town. Watching them fly is amazing. I'm happy right now with my electric plane and heli. The jets are SOOO complicated and expensive. I rather just watch them than try to own and fly one myself :D

Yeah, after that little accident, I haven't flown anything other than my Piper. Maybe some day I'll try and give one of the bigger planes a shot again, but not until I'm rich and famous, so I can afford crashing it without wanting to die.

The guys that fly jets will tell you that the support and transport equipment is what gets crazy. Just about everyone of them have a motorhome with a trailer behind it or some sort of expensive way to transport them :) Then, there's all the gear they need on the ground to start, fuel and fly them. It looks like way too much work for me. I'd rather have some sort of 4 stroke powered prop plane. A DeHaviland Beaver with floats would probably be my choice.

Yeah, that's the way it's around here, too. I got the spark when I did a couple of jumps with a parachute - jumping out from the plane was damn scary, but the cruising down after the chute popped open, wow! It's a bit expensive, considering I'm a college student, but I'm sure taking the course is worth it.

I think the local club flies from an old ski center, which isn't that high, really. Apparently you just need a decent hill and a bit of wind to get going. If that fails, the local club website says they have a pickup and a snowmobile that have been modded for towing the paragliders up.

Great pics of your Stick FL. Love that gear! I have to order a set for my stick. I have my movie camera mounted under the plane and a stronger gear would protect it better. I also need to get better with this thing. It's cooler looking but I still like flying the Stick better.

Maki that is the coolest RC fun you can have! Once I was flying a glider in the ridge lift off a beach at Nags Head. It was so fun to work the lift there and you could fly all day without landing if you wanted. You are SO lucky to have access to an area like that.

Wow... this brings back childhood memories.

When I was a cub scout, one of our leaders used to have meetings at his house. Well more like his garage. :p Anyways, racked against the walls were tons of the huge lifelike planes that he said he flew around. I thought it was cool that he had GI Joes in the cockpit, he thought it was cool to drop napalm from them.

I still don't know if he was joking about that napalm bit till this day.

Cool!! I'm trying to work out a trade for my friends plane. I'm not sure what model it is. It has a symetrical low wing like yours with just throttle/ailerons/elevator. I think it's an OLD Sig model but I couldn't find it by searching. For a fast plane, it's very easy to fly, even on a windy day. It had a small nitro motor but he's converted it to electric. It still smells like the old nitro fuel :)

Wind must be an issue for you in Florida and a little more weight would be a good thing. From the size of the brushless motors I see for sale even a 10 to 15 pound plane is possible. :eek:
