Foam Mutes on P Bass

I now own three P basses (1988 or so MIJ reissue of a 62, 2006 MIJ reissue of a 1951, and a 2023 American Professional II Five String). Flats on all three. Was thinking of placing a foam mute on on of them (probaby one of the four string basses). My friend Randy Bermudes who plays with Charlie Musselwhite always has a foam mute on his P. I am not really a blues player though. When I play play Fender Bass (I mainly play Double/Upright) it is often in a Country and Western band. Whats everyone'sexperience using a foam mute? I think the P Bassescame with one originally.

I like the convenience of easy on/off because sometimes I don’t need it. This is Nordymute but there are others like it.
