After all it is the interwebs...where everyone is 6'4", brutally handsome, and plays like Jaco.
I think Fodera should increase their prices by 40%. Just to keep things interesting.

To the OP, if you can pay a visit the the upcoming 2013 winter NAMM show in Aneheim Cali. There you will have the opportunity to play pretty much every bass you have heard of and many many more.

.. If you want a high-quality "parts bass," Sadowsky, Lakland, Lull, Valenti, Nordstrand, Alleva-Coppolo and another slew of others fall in that category.

The Fodera NYC's are very nice, but since they are no longer being made, I doubt that I will ever see one with the specs I want, especially not a mahogany body. But if they were still being made, I would love in mahogany and 5A quilted maple!I have been playing for a very long time and have tried most all that is out there. I have to say that "for me" I have never had a Bass as good in tone and playability then my Fodera NYC's.
Ray can build you what you want! Ever since I got my first R Bass I have been selling and trading all my other gear to get my hands on more.
Here is Ray's # incase you want to call him for an quote 787-390-9333.
Here are a few pics of one similar to what you are looking for and also a few other's of his work.
