Hi climb,

Thanks, man, you are a experienced player from a wdie selection of good bass. I also have noticed the space are very little for slap....But I think people can get used to it or I have a plan for 22 frets in sometimes, but I think 24 fret will be better if I get a 4-string.......

It's a Elite. The spec are Ash Body with Tulipwood/5 piece Ash neck with Tulipwood fingerboard. Nordstrand NJ single coils. Small frets.

The bass sounds very full and still very clear! It can do a more Marcus Miller sound or get are more jazzy tone but you don't get the Walnut/Ebony sound like Janek Gwizdala.

You are amazing....... The videos are so good.....Very punchy salpping sound, this 'promised' slapping sound is only produced by ash..... Which pickup did you selected (pan pot control) for the fingering??? I know you have pan pot centred (both pickup open) for slappng.....

Hello everybody,

I have a new idea, firstly a elite bass can be ash neck with ash heel block, so that it takes about 50% of bass made of ash, the other half is in the body wing, then alder or walnut may be used, so that 50/50 case in this bass that have both 60's and 70's vibe...Fingerboard can be maple or ebony............

Any commend, experience ???????
Any idea for ash neck compare to maple neck??????

Yeah... I think it'll be nowhere near what you said you're going for. IME the Ash neck puts it over the top in zinginess, the complete opposite of the 60's vibe. Zingier than Wenge. I like Wenge but it's not a Fender vibe.

My suggestion stands. Maple body, Maple neck with something near Rosewood for the board, Bart electronics. I know that sounds simple... because it is. No tone block, do it with a bolt on and a single type of wood for the main body and do whatever top you want, just keep it thin. You want a Jazz bass vibe... that's a bolt-on. The simplest way to achieve that part of the equation is to stick with that neck joint. For the woods you mentioned, you're trying to mix pieces as if each piece will retain it's identity when in reality they'll probably counteract each other. Who knows what you'll end up with?

I gigged with mine again last night and as usual it nailed both vibes.

I haven't seen a Fodera with that combination either. I just know how well it's worked for me in getting both vibes.

If you ever get to Washington, DC, let's hook up.

BTW I'm not saying get a Brubaker, I'm saying that I believe a Fodera with the suggestions I gave you would likely be amazing and do what you're looking for. Based on my experience.

That could be a nice idea. I have never seen a Fodera with that wood combo. I saw a Monarch Elite with Walnut body. Maple heelblock with Maple neck. Maple fingerboard. Looks cool and it could be great to compair that combo wood to my wood combo

Some say that Ash necks are more stabile than Maple necks..
