Hey Jason,
Has Fodera ever built a bass with a Cocobolo top? Or any cocobolo accents? I personally would love a Matt Garrison with a cocobolo top, alder body and rosewood board.

A catalyzed urethane lacquer. These photos of Jonno's bass were taken BEFORE the final rub out to satin finish...

Jason, what kind of finish does Fodera use? I've always been curious about that.

Vinny will not build with a Cocobolo top...he feels that the wood is too oily and eventually the top will come apart from the body...also, he and Joey both do not like the tone that would result...they have expressed to me that they feel that it would be overly bright...

OMG I am jumpin out of my seat....

Planned on black hardware but the gold looked so so much better on that top I had to go with it...
Should be all done set up and speaking today.

Vinny used Cocobolo as wooden covers.
It is said that the top is Mac Ebony,which is much darker in person, and PU's cover is made out of Cocobolo.

That is a beauty! I had Cocobolo wooden covers on my Emperor Elite (I believe the first Fodera that had wooden covers, if I remember what Joey told me correctly... it's been a long time), and they were beautiful. Really picked up the color of the mahogany body on mine.

An Ash/Maple Imperial with a 34" scale and single coils - that should kill. If I were to order another Fodera, that's exactly what I'd get.

Any sense of the weight yet?

Oh, and gold hardware is definitely the way to go on that bass.
