Fodera Club Part V

I love the Monarch in a 5 or 6 string. I've always liked the look of the bass that Mitch Cohn used to use, a Monarch 5er.

I'm quoting myself to show you guys an incredible clip with Mitch Cohn. This is from when these guys were still in Berklee I believe. Incredible musicians! Unfortunately Mitch isn't doing anything like this any longer....a real shame. The drummer, Martin, went on to play with Hiromi, and the guitar player John Shannon is in NYC....one of my favorites. He's on Tony Grey's new cd. Enjoy!

es, there have been several. We actually have one coming back to the shop this week or next as a Certified Pre-Owned. Alder Body, Dual Coils with Indian Rosewood FB. It's an Emperor 5 Bolt-on. I have never personally seen one configured this way...should be cool!

Thanks very much for the replies to my request so far. I should have made it more clear tho: I was thinking of topless Adler basses with no paint covering up the grain.
Didn't James Genus have an ash one like that?

Cool,
Will you post here once it is up on the site?
And something that occured to me when looking through the Fodera site... I think it would be interesting to have the weight of each bass included in the spec sheet.

That would add one more step in the process and be one more piece of data to track. It is an interesting idea...let me talk to the team and see what everyone thinks. Thanks for the suggestion!

Do any of you own Imperial 4 strings? I'm having a hard time finding Imperial 4s, as it appears that most are configured as a 5 string. There is one on the LowEnd bass gallery, but I wish I could see some more. An Imperial 4 really appeals to me.

Yes, Imperial 4 is quite rare...

This is now on sale in Japan:

I ordered a Imperial 4 as well last year and will be finished next year.....:hyper:

I think rather than waiting in the used market, you should order one with your own spec...

Cheers,

My brother has an old 4 string NYC Empire body with a bona fide Vinny Fodera neck on it. Solid Alder with no top...red/black burst with zebrawood veneer on the peg head. Gold hardware, Fodera bridge, my preamp...an older one, I think. It kills. GREAT sounding bass.

My old NYC (Monarch body) killed indeed! with your preamp, of course.;)

(sorry for the crappy cell phone pic:hiding:)

Yes, they are both mine. I often bring mine into the shop for customers to try (if they are interested in a wood / pup combination that I have). Since they were there and they are both beautiful ones...we figured why not? They were newborns once! I will be posting the descriptions of both later today...

Cheers,

J

Jason,

Noticed that you added a couple of 4 string monarchs (2007 and 2009)... either of them one of yours?

They are beautiful. I especially like the quilted-spalt.
