The "standard" headstock shape for us on a 5-string has historically been 2+3. That said, in a completely custom shop there really is no standard...LOL!

Vinny, Joey and I personally prefer the 2+3 on aesthetic grounds mostly...we can get great function out of either. As a matter of fact a very significant new 5-string instrument that we will be releasing at Bass Player Live next month will have a 3+2 peghead...that's just what will work best for this new instrument...

The new bass will not be a YYS 5. It WILL have dual coils and it will KILL. More in October.
