That is so true I always went to Mr. 's website for some GAS moment. Specially those old jazz basses.

Hope that last one went to good hands, which was on talkbass.

I remember going to Rainers website a while back and there was a note saying something like he wouldn't be using the site for extensive picture publishing..

Well I had to be nosey and I had a look this morning and man my eyes got burnt!!
I'm so glad he's still publishing the collection, it just gets better.. Yeah, those old Jazzers and the KL's look sweet. I wonder if Rainer will ever get gas for a Presentation?. :0)

GAS for a Presentation? There is no alive soul that didn't get GAS for a Presentation :)

Hi all - thanks for your comments, I'm quite surprised that my small site received some attention from you fellow TB'ers...

I reduced the pics for some time due to the temporarily unclear situation with some banned woods here in EU. I decided to return to full mode now.

@Denis: Yes, these are old Bartolini's. They sound absolutely great in this bass, combined with the new Pope pre.

@Goran: The 66 Dots/Binding is still in my house. I couldn't sell it. It plays so smooth and sound so silky - recently I watched a spot from Shuffler with Paul Turner on bass and he slapped so groovy on a sibling of this Jazz Bass... I decided to keep it.

@Lugzy: Your timing is perfect. I updated my site last night ... Thanks for your comments !

What a wonderful (bass) world ...

Speaking of Presentation GAS. I know of one coming up for sale shortly (not mine). PM me if you're interested and I'll point you in the direction of the seller.

I couldn't do the unthinkable just before Christmas, but it's certainly at the top of my wish list I've sent off to Santa..LoL

A lovely collection of Vintage Fender Jazz basses plus five Fodera's that would turn most aficionados green with GAS.

Anyone out there who knows how these older Bartolini soapbars are constructed internally ? Are these Humbuckers or Single Coils ? If Humbuckers, serial or parallel ?

As far as I know they were custom made for Fodera, but is there an equivalent in the Bart standard models ?

if they're what i think they are, they're a reverse p configuration in that soapbar enclosure.

if you have the bass, take a screw driver and tap along the top of the casing and see where the pole pieces are. my guess is that the top three strings will have the pole pieces along the front of the casing and the lower strings will have the poles pieces to the rear.

what's the bass?
