Dude, that Warwick is disgustingly ugly. It is hideous. My face cringed when i saw the photos of it.
up close, the finish looks truly ugly (aesthetic, couldn't comment on the work quality).
just wonder why that seemed like a good idea.
Wow - I just saw it. That might be the saddest and most blatant rip off I've ever seen. I'm with you -- I can't imagine anyone thought that was a good call...
You've got to be kidding me…this is even more insulting than the Chinese knockoffs.
The Warwick looks pretty awesome. I wouldn't get too upset if I were you guys. A lot of companies will do one-off showpiece designs for NAMM.

I am completely sold on 33". My 33" MG is the only bass I really want to play these days. I don't mind the 26 frets and slapping isn't terrible but my perfect bass would be a 33" MG with 24 frets.
I had a jam yesterday (jazz standards), and it was the first time I plugged the bass and played it live, as I am not at home for long.
Amp was a glock and speaker a accugroove. I never played those gears before.
No time to balance, and I had to read sheets musics as I didn't know all the repertoire the band use to play.
During the first song, I turned down trebles a bit and give a neck pup flavor, and sounded spot on in the mix.
I appreciated very much to get a great tone so fast and be able only to focus on music.
Also the B string sounded excellent (33") and slapped on Cantaloupe Island was a joy.
I took a couples of chorus, and just by boosting a bit the volume was enough.
I was a bit afraid about the weight (Walnut body and top), but definitively no issue.
At the end, just good surprises with this bass, who is more versatile that I could imagine.

I can't say the Warwick is ugly, but if this is what their custom shop came up with it strikes me more that they're lazy and not particularly creative. I've read on Basschat (UK version of talkbass) that their custom shop customer service is dreadful too. One guy was quoted about $5000 for a truss rod fix.
Come on now, it's nowhere near that bad. I think it looks pretty cool! Probably costs a fortune though, you could get a Fodera for the same money.
I'm quite enjoying the neck pickup on my new Monarch Standard. I rarely solo the neck PU on my other basses but on the Monarch it's loads of fun! This beast is versatile. Here's a clip of the neck pickup in single coil position.
It's not that it looks "bad" - it's the idea that they've basically appropriated the Yin Yang which has always been - as far as I am aware - unique to Fodera.
