For people who say Michael Anthony cant play...

With Chickenfoot, Sammy has reached hitherto unexplored levels of laziness as a lyricist. Then again, he's 67 now. I can cut him some slack. Plus, it's nice that Mike has an outlet for his playing and backup singing. But Chickenfoot just fundamentally doesn't work for me.

I should note that Sammy can write really good lyrics when he's at his best--see "Mine All Mine" from "OU812," for example. Just outstanding lyrics. But when he's bad, he's real bad.

That said, DLR wrote some extremely poopy lyrics, too ("Jump," anyone?), but he gets a pass because he's DLR.

So wait a thread to praise Michaels bass skills but then talking down the singing and lyrics? :meh: You know allot of great rock songs are about " cheesy " lyrics . It's part of rock magic to a degree. At least they tried.

Kid rock has a hit with lyrics a that sound like a 10 yr old wrote. No only that he uses a famous songs music and adds the horrible lyrics over it. That sports fans is lazy.

But I will take Chicenfoot over allot of the crap out there today. I'm so sick of hearing auto enhanced singers or some guy spitting non sense and so called lyrics into a mic with a recorded backbeat.
