For Steve and others regarding fret lines

Yes, fretlines again, but not what you might think at first.

My question is have you noticed extra buzzing or pinching of the notes that results from the lines? It seems to me that it does this on some instruments. I'm sure that a fresh leveling job would smooth this out, but does it return quickly?

My Squier fretless has the white inlaid lines. Some of them are too high and cause a little buzzing. I have tried to sand them down, but did not work. Seems the ebanol was softer and it started to wear before the white lines. Don't know what to do.

Are you sure the markers are high? or is it just regular wear on the fingerboard?
Either way of the traditional ways to fix is to get a nice flat sharpening stone and rub it down the fingerboard, I used to remove 2 strings at a time to do this, then the truss rod doesn't bow the fingerboard back as it might with all 4 removed. How quickly the buzz comes back depends on the fingerboard wood, and on how accurate you play.
That's a point actually, if you've got the intonation set up right then a high fret marker won't buzz unless you play slightly flat, so it shouldn't be a problem.
So..you could try adjusting the intonation so you have to play very slightly higher up the neck.
