For the SX owners

I've got enough to crash the server! :D Probably well over a hundred gig shots, and some video footage as well.

I like this pic though so...

I like that one. That's a good color and pickguard combo. Funny I didn't see that one on the Rondo website.

That's because that's a custom made pickguard. ;)

Here's another shot.

Lake Placid Blue and that particular Celluloid Tortoise are tough to catch right in pics.

The blue will look completely different one pic to the next, and the tort goes from Reddish to brown depending on the shot.

Like everyone has said, if you are on the fence just DO it! I have a few SXes and I love each and every one:

In fact, I have so much Rondo stuff, my buddies are calling me a Rondo whore. ;)

And on mods, 3 of my SX basses are modded (the 2 SJB 4+1's and my SJB-57). As a matter of fact I just installed a pair of Fender Original Jazz pups in my vintage yellow SJB-57 (I put an Audere in it a few weeks ago). An audere makes one of these really, really versatile!

But even though I like the Fender pups, I will probably never get rid of my pure stock SJB-62 because the stock pups punch better, and even though they are ceramic and the Fenders are Alnico, those stock SX pups hold their own very respectably! Especially if you slap those bad boys! :bassist:

I'm still having trouble believing these things are as good as you guys keep saying . . . can it be? Or is it too good to be true?

Buy one, set it up and try it for yourself. If you don't like it you can sell one that new for nearly what you paid for it, it is a real low cost, no risk experiment. I have 3 of them and if they were not what they were reported to be by fellow TB'ers, I would not have bought more than one. I never heard of SX or Rondo till I found this site.

SX basses really are all that -- as nearly everyone here says. It may be hard to believe but they are truly exceptional basses for the money. Rondo should be charging much more for them in my opinion.

My only complaint about SX basses is that they are heavy. 9-11 pounds depending on the model.

OK, actually two complaints. The other is the LTD models don't come in short-scale.

Okay, I'm going to take the SX plunge!

So which bass would you recommend? I'll get either a P or J, I don't care. :bassist:

My drummer's ash P-J. I use it for practice often.

Next to my Turser JTB-401 (another exceptional inespensive bass)

If I didn't have my Reverend pickup loaded Peavey Millenium I would be happy with the sound. As it is it's just adequate. My Peavey sounds fantastic. Of course the price difference, even at the discount I got the P-V at, is not trivial.
