For this with active basses

General question that I guess could have been asked in the amp forum as well. For those of you running active basses, do you do your eq adjustments at your bass, at the amp, or a little of each? Just curious what the consensus was among the TB crowd.

When I've had active basses I generally left my amp's eq flat and made any adjustments at my bass. The exception to this was when my bass didn't have any mid control - at which point I would only adjust the mids on the amp.

I only use EQ on the amp to cut unpleasant frequencies for whatever reason. The onboard controls shape my tone, so the amp only has to faithfully reproduce.

When I use passive Basses the principal is the same with less tone shaping capabilities.

You and I are them same.
Except that I have a GEB 7 pedal EQ.
I set it for a boosted low mid setting that I can quickly turn on of off.

I dial my amp in how I like it with my onboard controls flat (or volume/tone at about 80% on my passive basses), then adjust as needed for different sounds/rooms on the bass. I usually cut the bass to around 10:00, boost the low mid to around 2:00, and leave high mid and treble at 12:00 on my amps. I like a lot of balls and punch but HATE being boomy. I also tend to set the gain pretty high (3:00-4:00) and the master appropriately for my desired volume, but do kinda the opposite if I want a real smooth jazzy sound. I've more or less only ever played Gallien Krueger amps, the 'boost' and 'contour' knobs are usually up past noon as well, tweeter off. I never use the active padded input on anything.
