Forest Bathing

IMG_3234.jpeg

I love a gentle hike through the forest. There is nothing else like it for me. I may find a nice quiet spot and sit quietly and meditate on the sites, sounds and smells around me. I say I can hear God speaking to me in those times. For some of you it may be just nature talking to you are something else but it is a calming and at the same time exhilarating experience.
Sometimes I will invite a friend or friends to go on a hike with me who don't understand this. Some of them won't stop talking the whole time. I might tell them "You go ahead, I will catch up to you."
Anyone else love spending time surrounded by trees?
Just read this and it clarified some things for me.

Yes, 1000%. I'm blessed to live in an area where there are ample trails, trees parks and nature. An absurd variety of birds. Sea turtles and pelicans. Life is so hectic and nonstop that most days, I can't get outside to one of these nature areas fast enough.

And yes, nature is where I hear God's voice. My best prayer and meditation are done outdoors on these walks. The wind between the trees, the sounds of the birds and squirrels...these are God's sounds. These moments provide a lot of clarity for me.
