Form-fitting 4-string Precision Light/Hybrid Case

Hello,

I've been reading other threads about cases, but I still haven't found what I'm looking for...

In my own searching, this is the closest I've found to what I want:
SKB SoftCase Universal-Shaped for Electric Bass with EPS Foam Interior/Nylon Exterior

Basically, I want the most form-fitting light/hybrid case for a Precision bass possible.

I don't want a gig bag, and I really would prefer to not have a hard case, because they are heavier than I like, but if a light enough hard case exists (that also has "plush" enough interior), I'll check it out.

I have the Gator polyfoam case now, but it isn't form-fitting, so the bass does rattle around a little.

I've been thinking of just buying the WolfPak case and making my own foam inserts to hold the body tighter, but I prefer not to mess with that...

Thank you!!

I have two of these…one for a Jazz bass and a smaller one for Stratocaster. Personally, I think they're great! They're lightweight, it can hold a fair amount of little accessories in it's compartments, it's just thick enough to give decent protection and the backpack straps make hauling it around easier…just be sure to watch your overhead clearance when it's strapped on. ;)

Thanks for the reply! I'm glad to hear from a satisfied owner of that case. Unless I find something else, I'm going to buy that one. :)

Good idea, and not just because I'm an owner, but because I noticed something strange. The only photo of the inside of the WolfPak case is by someone who actually bought one. I can't find a single pic taken by the manufacturer of what the it looks like when it's open. That, to me, is a serious oversight on their part, and I, for one, would think twice about buying any case I can't get an "under the hood" glimpse of. :snaphappy:

@NoNoise; I almost forgot to mention one thing. If you do decide to go with the SKB, make sure the rubber "feet" are sewn down securely. I got one case where the stitching didn't fully catch. Eventually, it would've unraveled enough to fall off. Fortunately, I spotted the problem in time to return it for another one. The new-new case was in perfect working order.

Basically, it was a minor defect that happens on rare occasions, but it's something to keep an eye out for as a "just in case".
(pun only slightly intended  :D)

One review on Amazon said a screw for one foot started poking through the case and damaged his bass a little. So, I would remove that foot per his recommendation.

Now you got me leaning over to check out my bass case, just a mere two feet from my computer chair. There are a number of screwed-down rivets holding down the exterior nylon-cloth sheath to the foam chassis. The feet, which are made of rubber. are sewn down to that sheath. The only metal I can see are those screws and the zippers.

With that in mind, I think he may be talking about a different case. But since a picture is worth yadda…yadda…yadda…

Zippers & screws to hold the sheath down…

…and the "toothy" rubber feet, which are sewn down. ;)
