Formula 1/F1/Formula One

At this point, the only thing we can hope for is that future methods by race control will be investigated and corrected.

What would Lewis' supporters want to see take place? It's seriously doubtful the finishing order and points would be altered.
I would like to see him come back in 2022 and have a monster season, win a championship, and retire on top.

I would like to see Lewis get another championship and then hang it up. He sure seemed like the same Lewis Hamilton as he always was at the end of this season. After the scoring weirdness of 2021, he has something left to prove.

Nothing is for sure except that Mazi-spin will spin and Vettel will be a little out of control. Vettel may start showing signs of maturity, so maybe him being a little out of control won't be a sure thing.
I assume you mean Verstappen, not Vettel?

The two possible Hamilton outcomes - he retires now as he doubts the honesty of the sport or he comes back and races again - are both fine by me and perfectly understandable.

Either way he's a total giant IMO and his behavior since being robbed has only heightened that feeling for me.

No way will Hamilton walk away this close to the start of the season. He wouldn't do that to Toto and especially the top brass at Mercedes.

Plus, he wants to see how good that new car is gonna be. Who knows? It might be so fast, it'll be like his previous championship years and he'll clinch with four races to go.

Lewis is in for '22. Bank on it.

I'm not sure that there's an objectively 'good decision' for him to take here. I also think Merc would respect his choice either way.

If he does race again I'll certainly enjoy watching!

Kind of a weak article that veers between stating the obvious and....well, speculating.

"Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff is one of those hearing the rumors ".

Toto has read articles like this which speculate? Well duh.

Hamilton will take the right decision.

Yeah, I don't see him quitting yet. I think he really wants to get #8 and he'll stick around until he does. Or at least give it a good try for another year or three.

I mean, he could quit. Hope he doesn't but would respect him if he did, I really do like the way he carries himself. In and out of F1.

I guess the media is usually full of Hamilton stuff, including his own social media and what somebody in this thread referred to as "activism" (scare quotes his, not mine) so Hamilton's silence really does come as a surprise.

I bet Hamilton will drive the primary car for Mercedes this year. I simply don't see him not driving that car.

If the new Ferrari is as good as some say, I bet Lewis would like to check the "I drove for Ferrari" box before his career ends. Yes, I believe that's why he's done one-year deals lately.

So probably not in '22 but...
