Most places I've looked this item was minumum $99.

W shipping I ordered for $64 including shipping.

To be honest, I am not a big fan of Hercules.
The last triple stand I owned slowly disintegrated over time, as if it was made to simply self-destruct, which it finally did at a gig last week.
But no one makes a stand that is initially as good (for about a year till it starts breaking!)

    Regardless, YMMV

Hey Silvertone, Hercules offers a lifetime warranty on their products. Real lifetime (other companies list the "lifetime" of the stand at 7 years). If you still have that broken stand contact us at service.usa@khsmusic.com and provide the serial number and a couple of photos.

A few years ago we did have some issue with the plastic that the height adjustment grip was molded from and as soon as the problem manifested itself we took measures to correct the problem. Any new stands we're shipping will not have this problem.

    I hope this helps.

And I just threw a disintegrating Hercules stand in the church dumpster last week! Now it's time for dumpster diving...

I have Hercs in several different configurations, and they’ve all been great. It sounds like you got a deal, but...did you get hit with CA sales tax? Also, know this: WWBW, Music 123, Musician’s Friend, are all owned by Guitar Center. That Westlake address(just outside LA where GC corporate is located)is most likely a customer service boiler room. The stand will probably be shipped out from the massive GC/MF, etc. warehouse in Kansas City, MO. Guitar Center, as an umbrella company, bought up all the others(WWBW was a smaller mom’n’pop/mailorder outfit in Indiana)to create an illusion of different companies competing against each other, regardless of whether you order from EBay, Amazon, or their own individual websites(and that includes GC’s). By all the reviews I’ve read, their(all of them)returns process is a nightmare, so inspect the stand closely. I have no idea why you got that deal in particular, but in their EBay store, WWBW doesn’t feature much in the way of guitar stuff, so maybe they’re closing out that kind of thing, or it was an order sent back.

I dug my Hercules stand out of the dumpster and contacted the company. Sent pictures, etc., to the company. We'll see what happens. It was a great stand for years, and suddenly fell apart. I've never seen any stand do that before.

  7. The Westlake location is a couple large office buildings where management and finance for the Guitar Center companies are run.

Well, great news from Hercules stands! I'd had a Hercules stand for several years, and it suddenly failed, at which time I noticed the plastic parts had deteriorated. I got hold of Hercules customer service, and today, just a few days later, I received a new replacement stand! Thank you KHS, the parent company of Hercules, great customer service!!! Ill be telling everyone about my experience. Thanks again!

We're so glad to have been able to help. Maybe I'm biased, but even before I came to work for KHS I thought Hercules were the best stands out there.

    Since you swung by..... :D

I had a doublde hanging stand that I loved for several years. But a few months in it developed this sticky film all over the rubbery parts. I tried everything to clean it off. Having access to exam gloves I got to the point of putting one on to set up my stand before finally giving up on it. I have read a lot about that being an issue.

Are you aware of that problem? Amd has that been resolved? Because other than that I would love to get another one. It worked beautifully. I just couldn't get past the goo on it.

    Two Fingers:
Although I don't know exactly what caused the issue, what I believe is that at one point we were using a soft-touch coating on the molded plastic to give it a higher-end feel. The material used for this coating was fickle and would react to certain temperatures and humidity levels. This caused the material to become sticky. Some users have had success wiping it off with Goo Gone or other solvents, but if you still have the stand, it's a warranty issue and we'll take care of it. Please contact us at service.usa@khsmusic.com to make a claim.

As for the current production, we no longer use that coating and do not have this issue on current production stands.

I'll look. I am not even sure if I kept it.

And, yes, humidity is an "issue" for us here in Eastern NC. It's a running joke. People would say "It's not just the heat, it's the humidity." so much we jokingly attatch it to everything. Someone will be pissing and moaning about taxes and someone else will chime in with "It's not just the AMOUNT you have to pay, it's the humidity." :D

So if humidity made the issue worse in Wisconsin, it amplified the problem exponentially here in tue flatlands of coastal NC.

Thanks for the response. I liked the stand so much that even if I can't find the old one for you guys to replace I'll buy a new one. Other than the past goo issues it's a well designed unit for sure.
