Am I wrong to side-eye this thing? Body seems mad off, esp. upper strap horn. And the thru-body strings. Also the headstock logo, just...is that accurate?? It's very late and I'm very tired but it just doesn't seem to fit my notion of Reality atm.

Willing to accept my own ignorance if I'm wrong but figured I'd ask y'all top-tier experts. In the name of science and education, here we go:

Peavey Foundation 2000 5-String Bass Guitar (Puente Hills, CA) | Reverb

At first I was thinking "What's OP on about, this bass looks fine to me..." - And it does, frankly, look like a perfectly decent bass. But I'm wondering if he isn't on to something; that, to me, almost looks like a Foundation neck bolted to a Millennium body (I'm no Peavey expert either, but I don't recall ever seeing a Foundation in a metallic finish, whereas I am pretty sure some Millenniums came like this).

EDIT: Maybe not a Millennium body, as I don't think Millenniums came with these pickups...but a Peavey USA body of some sort...

Foundation 2000 has the same body cut as the GV and US Millennium. Pick up placement very similar to the GV but passive not active. The bass in question looks legit to me but imo it's priced a bit high.

The horn on the body looks funny to me as well. But, I've been up for 18 hours to. Maybe someone with that bass can post a picture for comparison. There was a guy that was Frankensteining Peavey basses and selling them for what they weren't. He put a Dyna neck on a Fury body and tried to sell it as a Dyna. I think I have that right? Anyway, I called him on it and he has disappeared.

I had an early 90’s Foundation 5 string at one point, but the body was very different. The neck looks right - no idea if they used that body style at some point. Price seems high to me - “used to” be able to pick these up for $2-300, though prices have changed a lot.

From what people are saying about this Millennium body 5 string I was expecting an $800 price like what T40 are getting now. $499 seems to be accurate or a bit low considering it's a discontinued Peavey. New, I'd expect a present day price abt $1100. (unless it's American made, it says American Crafted, so... Indonesian Skylines are getting more. I know that a 4st Millennium was abt $300 25 years ago, and again it's a matter of a discontinued American brand, they hold value these days.
