Fractal audio AXE FXIII as a bass pre-amp

Given the fact that you can combine, split and have routing heaven in general it is somewhat not fully appreciating the whole package of the Fractal products when only looking at one bass amp. Also there are so many controls to adjust in one single amp (not even touching the possibility of adding any number of EQ's etc.), that for me it really comes down to what you do with it. Are there bad tones possible, for sure. However, it is a really complex device which in the end led me to go with other gear (sold the AXE-FxII). It's too complex, even for a guy like me who likes to fiddle with knobs and try things out.

For guys with much time and energy to really dive deeply into sound engineering, this is the box for you.

I would add - what type of amp are you looking to emulate. Depending on what you're looking for, it might be cheaper to go with an actual amp or preamp. I've been looking at Fractals and Helix's because I'd like to have an array of sounds for my studio without having a ton of more gear than I already have.

Yep I have one, it's awesome. I play both guitar and bass through it. The flexability is insane. I have a preset that is an Ampeg SVT running parallel with a Friedman HBE. Still not a lot of options on the bass specific side of things, but there is 6 bass amps in there and plenty of effects.
