How is he getting such a fat tone, it sounds like hes playing on the bridge PU but you can see hes playing it on the front pickup. Besides the plucking placement and the Ken smith Tone, how else can one achieve this tone?

Most video audio is also heavily compressed..
Hard to tell what he's doing live ...
