Customer walks in with this guy, body is cracked and so is the headstock. Gluing it up now, but what the heck is it? It’s a charvel 5 string something or the other. Serial is C902092, so 1990? Never owned a 5 string before. It’ll be fun to plink around on. Going to have to buy some leather pants lol.

Looks like a Charvel Fusion V. I have one in black, got it in a trade for a Peavey TNT combo in the mid-90s. Enjoy!

I don't think leather pants are the proper garb for that. Pretty sure we're talking spandex.

I had a Carvin with a similar 5 in line headstock. Although it's only a few more inches, you end up running into things a lot more often. We get used to our basses being a certain size, and "just a bit longer" takes a long time to adjust to.

I dig that body shape. It's like a Reverend meets a Jackson Spectra. Like that magenta color too. That's definitely a bass that would look incredible on Instagram, TikTok, and all the social media platforms.

And I feel like that kind of beveling was all the rage on Japanese-made basses in the 90s. It seems to be trending again too. I can't find the video, but I remember seeing one recently where Jeff Kiesel was talking about updates to various models and the comments section was almost playing a drinking game with the amount of times he said "bevel" so, yeah, Kiesel is going for broke on beveling their body designs too.

And forget the leather pants... I would rock that bass with a pair of baggy black JNCO or Kikwear "wide leg" trousers. Maybe because I came of age in the 90s, I vastly prefer the fit/feel of baggy trousers over the tight "skinny" trousers.

I also agree with the choice of upgrading the pickups to EMGs. A bass like that screams for EMGs.

Yeah, this one already has a chunk taken out of the headstock
