It's a personal choice, but I've never been a fan of any theory description in music that uses the word "avoid". I've transcribed plenty of examples where great artists are using "avoid notes" all over the place.

To each his own I guess.

Thanks for your comment! I agree with you; however, for now, I have to introduce the general tendencies before I go about breaking the rules. In a later episode I am going to systematically break down every rule I can to show that there are exceptions to most rules
