Is this an "inside" bass player's joke - as this is famously a tune, where the bass stays on one note for the head!!?? ;)

That's cheating!! I think you should be forced to play a one-note bass line, like the rest of us!! ;)

  8. Yo Don,
Let me know if you're looking for any other tunes. I can run the book up to you and we can make some copies. No sweat.
    Regards,

Click on the link for the cd "Infinite Search". There's a short clip of Miroslav having his way with the head on Freedom Jazz Dance. This is a great album.

The downside is, after Miroslav recorded this track, bandleaders now feel free to ask the bassist to play the head on FJD, as if it just lays beautifully on the bass. I'll admit it; I worked this one out on the slab first, just to see how to get through it without killing myself.

If you're comfortable in fourths across the fingerboard, and a little stretching and shifting here and there, it's not too hard.

well, i might be able to do that. 4ths look like minor 3rds whe nyou tune in 5ths.

just don't blindfold me ok ?

Pizz, no arco is the halfway thing..

You're just going to have to settle :D

I can live with that...especially since I usually sound like s*** no matter where on the neck I play it.

    Arco? Fugeddaboutit.
