Fretless 6 string

Ah, so at last i have started carving, this is the part of this build ive been really looking forward to.. Its a real process of discovery, ive enjoyed the hell out of seeing hoe all the pieces of wood behave when carving, and hoiw the grain, figuring and colour will come through as i take layers away. Its very new to me as ive never really done this kind of carving before. I may have found a new love in it.

Anyway on to some pics, all done with spoke shave, chisels and gouges I have more pics that ill post once i get them off my phone and lots more of the process if anyone is interested in them but for now ill just go with where im at now and bear in mind, its still very much in progress

these are the lower half roundover

So ive pretty much finished carving the body. Got the truss rod today so ill be putting the neck together tomorrow.

Im looking for suggestions or tips on how to finish this bass. I really want it to look spectacular, does anyone have any experience finishing this kind of wood that theyd care to share.

Here are some unfortunately slightly blurry pics of the body given a rub with some white spirits.
