Fretless Bass Suggestions

My G&L L-2500 can do active and passive via a toggle switch. I'm in active mode 90% of the time, but do use passive mode occasionally if I want a bit more mellow tone. But I've had a couple of passive j-bass fretless basses in the past and never felt like I 'needed' active mode. I just think the L-series generally sounds better in active mode, but that's just me.

I like it a lot. Quality, fit/finsh are all top notch.

Never had a tone nob that made this much of a differnce. Impressed with that.

Had the fender flats that it came with
on it for a bit, then replaced with Cobalt flats. The fretless Jazz with flats is a cool sound. And oiling the fretboad is so much quicker. Lol.

View attachment 4585440 I recommend something that growls. Warwick corvette with roto66 strings. This is the only FL I have ever owned but find it sounds less wah, or singy sounding then jazz bass I have heard.

I have a German Corvette 4 string fretless that I am thinking about letting go. I primarily use 5 strings so my Corvette is not getting any attention. It is in beautiful shape and does growl
