hey guys,

this will be my first approach into fretless world ... so you guys that play fretless do you have certain different effects for it, or do you use the same effects you use for fretted as well?

The only effects I've used effectively (no pun intended) with fretless is a bit of distortion or overdrive and chorus. Of course, I don't have a delay or reverb, but I believe they would be perfect with fretless.

It's not just Pino P., an octavider sounds great on anyone's fretless! My fretless patch on my ME-50b, has octavider, chorus and EQing: if you boost around 900hz, it really emphasises the 'm-wah'.

how do you like your washburn fretless?

I have a very close relationship with my Washburn. Bought it off a guy at my school, for $75. It had been taken apart and stripped off finish, so I sanded, primed, and painted it, rewired it, defretted and polyurethaned the neck and voila! Fretless.
