Fretless Electrics

i'm in a bind between two ideas...

spending a certain chunk of cash on either:

A) A greatly discounted quality ESP bass with specs of my choosing (any kind of EMG pickups)

B) a good fretless electric with fairly high-quality attributes... limit is 1,200

any thoughts or strategies?

You could wait for a used Pedulla Buzz. Good examples can easily be had for around $1200.

Just found a Yamaha Fretless with ghost frets for $120 used.
Great shape, plays well and sounds good.

Think twice about spending big bucks on a fretless.
Most guys don't keep them because of all the work involved,
intonation, and limited use.

If your serious about a fretless look for a used Pedulla Buzz bass for about $1200.

^limited use? you lie. intonation? practice. what work? practicing? thats not work. buy a used mim fretless, or a new one if you feel fit, and put some nice pickups and a bridge on it, with some rotosounds, GOLDEN maybe, 600-700, less if you buy used. OR take 1200 and get a fender american fretless. esp... meh.

Personally I'd go with a nice fretless.

Pendula Buzz's get fantastic reviews, used go for around $1k frequently.
If you can find a fretless Zon used in that range, jump on it.
I'm GASing for a fretless Peavey Cirrus personally.
