fretless / epoxy

Thinking about picking up a road worn jazz bass and turning it into a fretless. I'm on the waiting list for HG Thor (2 years w/my already fretless stingray) so I was wondering if any of you guys know another high quality place to have this done...
I'm in eastern Ky, and no one remotely close does this typ of work ...

Bud LeCompte can do epoxy, but I think he only does it on his builds.

I've tried before, the nicest way to put it is it's not my thing...but honestly I suck at it ...

You could try the 4 O'clock Rock Shop in Ashland. It's been years since I've been there, and I think it used to be called Chris' Guitar Shop, but they had some pretty knowledgeable people working in there last time I was there, and I recall them having a tech that really knew his stuff... Wish I could remember his name.

yeah i forgot about chris' ,,, they had a shop in morehead ky, a guy named steve rigsby worked there some ... I traded him a 78 antigua p bass once upon a time...boy do i regret that ...

I would consider a Highway 1 Jazz, that bass would make a fantastic fretless, being very strong in the midrange. Not to knock the Road Worn, but you can save a few dollars. And if you want to go full Jaco with no pickguard, you won't have that CNC hole in the body.
