Fretless Fender PJ-555 NBD!

Could not believe when I found this hanging in the local used shop. I never get this lucky! My immediate thought was "I want that right now, please take all my money!" and then I was absolutely floored they were asking half of what I expecting to pay. It has plenty of dings and blemishes, and yes the original knobs are missing, but the rosewood fingerboard is perfect it plays just beautifully. LOVE IT!!!

Nice find! Especially with the painted neck that not all of them have. The replacement knobs are pretty tastefully chosen, I think. Fits well with the look of the bass. I have a fretted one, pink metallic, it's a dream to play. I picked it up for a good price in 2009, back then these didn't seem to be particularly sought-after, and information on the web was scarce. Their reputation seems to have grown in recent years, though!

For those wanting one, but having a hard time finding an original, the reissue model released by Fender recently is very close to the real thing in terms of sound and feel.

I love that model. I played a fretless one I should have bought maybe 14 years ago. It was only $300.

Thanks! It has the j width neck. I had a fretted version with the p profile and this is much better for my hand (though both are nice).
