Fridge Kegerator

So I was given an old fridge that I want to turn into a kegerator. How ever I'm wanting to dress this ugly thing up to make it look like an 8x10 cab with a head sitting on top (the freezer). So I'll either tolex the entire thing or get some black spray on bed liner then add grill cloth to the front and whatnot.... Then on the top I'm trying to find some kind of amp faceplate to add knobs and stuff to it to make it look like an actual amp. Then of course ultimately have my beer taps coming out the front of the fridge.

What I think would be sweet it if I could wire up a simple switch and 9V battery to a pilot light and with a jewel on it to make it look like I could turn the amp on. Wiring should not be a problem. Does anyone have any recommendations for pilot lights and a pilot light holder? I just wasn't sure if the pilot lights would work on DC voltage or if anyone had a better idea.

Just a cool project I think would be fun for my man cave.

Guess I could just use an LED and a resistor and mount a jewell on top of it instead.

Somebody made a fridge in the design of an Ampeg 8X10. Maybe you can get ideas from this picture.

Brings to mind the bar fridge covered in cowhide the guys on American Pickers found. Seems like a lot of trouble with no real return. The fridge already does it's job, if it's that gnarly, slap some flat black paint on it and go with the urban wasteland/walking dead look.

Build your 'head' outta wood. take a tap from the 110v line into the head, wire in a door bell transformer and use that to run your pilot light. Use any 12v lamp for the pilot light. the junction from 110 to 12v (where the transformer is spliced should be mounted in an electric box.)
