I have seen a large number of new fried chicken places opening near me. I drove around 200 miles yesterday over 11 hours all over the city and saw a bunch of them opening in almost every area I went to. People fighting and killing each other over fried chicken sandwiches at Popeye's and Chick-fil-A. People can't seem to get enough.
And no longer seems to just be a comfort food but a signature item even for non chicken restaurants. Nashville chicken this honey golden that it's really become overwhelming.
My guess the obsession will eventually end and these restaurants will be short-lived.
But it's not like fried chicken is some sort of new food idea or something.
