Just wanted to share my experience with my fellow TBers about a mod package I bought from Fromel Electronics a while back. It's for a Boss HF-2 flanger.
My brother just moved back into town, and he used to calibrate oscilloscopes, so he's handy with a soldering iron. Today he replaced the parts from the kit (minus the "vintage MXR" style).
All I can say about this pedal now is "WOW!" I didn't expect the pedal to be transformed much, but it was. It is like the pedal was reborn.
The best way for me to describe the new sound is smooth as silk. There are no nasty hisses in the background anymore. The faster rate is a plus, but the deeper depth is SAH-WEET!
The new LED glows with the rate and depth, which could be a life saver (don't know yet, haven't played live with it). Plus, now I can run the pedal with my standard 1 SPOT. It used to have to depend on either a wall wart, special adapter, or a 9V battery.
I'm sure some of you guys out there with BF-2's would like to know that he makes a kit for those as well (probably the same one as mine), and you WILL benefit from these mods.
Overall, I am very happy with the kit that was sent to me, and I would highly recommend Fromel Electronics to anyone.
