Just wondering if there would be any interest in this bass. It's a 1987 Gibson Q-80 Custom Shop. I believe it's a maple neck, and the fretboard is ebony, the body is mahogany. It's heavy! All black finish, including the neck, black tuners. Comes with original hard shell case.

    **Pictures and video below**

    Let's say $450 shipped.

how wide is the neck at the nut? what kinda tone does she put out? is it completely stock? what kinds of music did you use it for?

Baird6869 RIP Gord Downey. A True Canadian Icon.

That's a good deal for a seriously rare bass. Kinds Gibson's Fender Performer. Performers are selling for $750+++

    It's 1 5/8'' at the nut.

Think of a thick humbucker sound, and the mahogany gives it a bump in the low mids. (It's dead quiet btw) Sounds really good with my fulltone bassdrive. Completely stock. The bridge is a little bent up btw, but is completely stable.

here's a goofy video made with a digital camera, and then compressed for youtube, haha. don't hate on the playing, just wanted to get the tone out there. It's through a LMII and an Aguilar S210.

Can you take a pic of the front of the head stock please? :D Any known dents, chips or cracks in the paint?

  13. Is this the bass that basically had Thunderbird guts? If I had the funds I would get this in a second. I love the T-Bird sound but could never get used to the headstock dive.

I'm not sure if its got the Thunderbird guts, but it sounds like punchy mid-bump humbuckers as thunderbirds are described. PM replied!

Any plans to head into or through Charlottesville in the future? Heck, how do your Monday's look, maybe I could hire you on bass one night for my weekly guitar trio gig, that'd be a good chance to check out the bass...

Actually monday nights are rough for me. I have class during the day, and meetings at night! Charlottesville is only an hour away, I wouldn't mind meeting you in Staunton which is approx halfway.
