Fun old 70's song from Anita Ward, "Ring My Bell". Pretty easy groove and is an actual slap line, pretty fun to play as well.
You could take a song you already know and rework the bass line. For example, Anthrax/Public Enemy's "Bring The Noise" was a song I did that with. I also play it on my 5 string... we do the song for fun in my band, so I give it my interpretation

You mean "Good Times" by Chic, right? That song is originally played with a pick, but it would make a nice slap line to practice with.

I remember watching that in the thread you started and I liked that tutorial quite a bit. I'm not a slapper, though I have started to seriously learn recently. Definitely a good song for beginners.

Can't Stop by RHCP was the first slap song i learned on bass... it is very easy its pretty much all octaves for the verse then it goes into a finger style in the chorus and interlude
