any recommended just to mess around with and improve slapping, funky if possible...
Aeroplane - Red Hot Chili Peppers (nice n funky)
"Higher Ground" and "Nobody wierd like me" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers are also usefull to learn, they are less funky but they are quite fast and should improve your slapping.
ok good stuff already kinda know higher ground will check out the others.
any more suggestions
- Level 42's "Mr. Pink"
- Randy Coven's "Funk Me Tender"
- Tony Oppenheim's "Slap It!" book has lots of funky slap grooves.
ok thanks good stuff
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Fight Like a Brave (the part from 1:45 - 2:31 is slapped)
It's trick at first, but real fun once you learn it. I'd say it's pretty funky.
sticking with the red hot chilli peppers theme try "naked in the rain", again quite funky and with a nice solo in the middle
Primus - Tommy the cat.. is a good one!
love primus but dont think im ready for that yet
just begining... kinda
Its not actually that difficult, just start it off slow..
Try the bridge of 'Get on top' or 'I like dirt' by The red hot chili peppers.
theres no slap pop in i like dirt.....
Ed Freidlands new Slap DVD is awesome
Bela Fleck and The Flecktones' "Sinister Minister". Vic Wooten plays this one. It starts off pretty simple, then gets harder. But you don't have to play it exactly like Wooten. It's a fun chord pattern and there's lots of room to mess around and have fun with it.
naked in the rain is a good easy one, aeroplane is my favorite rhcp slapline.
Primus - Tommy the Cat
That should keep you busy for a while.
My recommendations are Slap It and Funk Bass.
have funk bass its very good funny picture on the front of it.
I'm gonna learn to play that bloody riff if it takes me the whole of 2006...
Hi I'm a newbie to here - on the recommendation of Tony Oppenheim.
I learned slap bass with his "Slap It!" and was searching now for new stuff especially slap technics like Marcus Miller is playing.
Does anyone of you know something about additional material with slap notes regarding Marcus technics?
Thanks in advice.
