Streaming the title tune right now. Funk meets Heavy Metal. :)

My 1st-ever concert:
The James Gang was the opening act...Tommy Bolin was in the band at this time. "Ride The Wind" was the 1st tune, Bang was the album.

Wow!!! Many fans dismiss Miami and Bang but they are great albums. Bolin was a monster.

When Tommy Bolin was with Deep Purple, they got a little funky. I used to play Gettin' Tighter from the Come Taste The Band album he played on with them. Check out the break down in this song.



When Tommy Bolin played with Zephyr, he was very young and they were a blues rock band.

Come Taste the Band is probably my favorite DP album. I really dig the Glenn Hughes/Coverdale incarnation and then add Bolin on top....come on.

Will Lee was working with Cobham's group at that time. He wasn't used on Spectrum because his sound, at the time, sucked.

Back then, many assumed Sklar was a "Folkie" (albums with various "Folk" artists). Actually, Sklar wad an early Fusioneer...he just happened to have been hired to play on various "Folk" albums. Check out his band The Section.

I first became aware of Sklar by his work with Jackson Browne. It wasn't until much later I found out how ungodly long his resume is (seriously, check out his discography on wikipedia).

But thanks for the tip on "The Section" , I'll have to check them out.

The first 2 Section albums are on Spotify...good stuff.
