Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

hi everybody,

i am in contact with the developer of the deep impact from akai.
i suggested to do a reissue of the legendary pedal, and he is seriously thinking about it if the interest is there.
what he needs is a rough estimate of units that he could sell. so, who is in?

maybe we can even talk about some additional features like more presets...

probably i will start a crowdfunding thingy in the next days, will post back then.

cheers,

lokki
I'm very interested. If there are any updates, please post them.

I see you quoted the first message of this thread. Did you read the whole thread?
Updates have already been posted by the author of the pedal.

This may have been addressed already but here goes

If most people want the di for the wolstenholm sound. Would it make sense to make a simpler unit with just a couple of the presets and maybe also a couple adjustable parameters...it seems every video I see guys are using preset 1 to get that sound.... so.....How about a couple of the most used presets and adjustable parameters, in a small enclosure and that would probly keep the price down too.
If you read the message by Andras Szalay, he explained that what he uses is a modern processor for everything. So making it simpler or less complicated would have no effect on the basic hardware needed since most, if not all, is done in software. Making a "simpler" pedal would not cost less, other than the time saved in programming.

No worries. The short story is that a lot of people misunderstood the "list." I kept a list as an unsolicited way of showing the developer the number of people interested. But then it got onerous as someone would ask to be added every few days and I would have to dig it up again. Because it was never official anyway (the developer hasn't committed to how he is going to sell these if/when they see the light of day), I decided to stop doing it.

So the last update from the developer mentioned the "last quarter" of 2015, and we're almost there...I'm going to go out on a limb and say that won't happen?

hey guys,

no real updates, sorry. i finished a cross platform editor for this beast, made with puredata. (should work with windows, OS X and Linux) very cool software by the way, if anyone is into computer music. the last thing i heard from andras (the dev) is that he has to remake his prototype because of some wrong potentiometer placement. also some capacitors were the wrong type.

Well that doesn't sound terribly encouraging.... :bored:

I built a new gig board today and really noticed how I don't have a synth pedal. What are some good ones?

ok, and here are some real updates!! i got an email from the dev today...

100 aluminium cases are roughly ready, the fine work on them starts tomorrow, also the pcb is ready. some firmware part took longer then expected but is now also working. so we are really getting closer. yehaa!!!

In one of his posts he said there would be some price estimates soon. I think the three things everyone is dying for are sound clips, estimated date, and estimated price.

It would make for a nice Christmas present! :)
