I doubt that anybody will be without a pedal. The most dificult part is to design the pedal. Building it is cheaper if it's made in bulk. If, let's say, a first batch of 100 units gets sold out i'm sure that Andras will get another batch going soon. If R&D is already done and the pedal designed why limit the production to a few units when there are more people willing to buy it?
No one wants to build more than they can sell, so what he would want is an estimate of how many people would be interested.... perhaps a list.

Not quite, there will be a massive interest for this pedal. If a batch sells out in a short period of time i don't see a reason not to invest on the next batch. It's when a batch takes too long to move that he can think about stopping production. IMO, obviously.

Some remarks to your comments:
1. Photos
The photos are not a "mock up" they show a 100% real device, the very first one. The PCBs have some patches, the production of the redesigned PCBs is going on right now.
2. Software
As I said, the software is not yet completely ready. In a certain sense, I expect that it will be ready in 5-6 years, just as my similarly complex earlier designs like the Axon or the Triple Play required such a time frame. Of course, nobody can wait so long for a product. This is the primary reason why I included a MIDI IN, because it allows to perform a software upgrade from a Sysex file. Of course, even the first software release will have much more than enough features to satisfy those who want to have DI emulation, and much more than that. Later software update will not be only bugfixes, but feature updates as well.
3. The list
As all said and all know, the list was unofficial. On one side, it did not require any kind of commitment from the customer; on the other side, such a commitment cannot be expected while you do not know exactly what you would buy, how much it would cost, and when will it be delivered. However, the list was very useful, and thank you for those who managed it; it showed the list of people who are more than just interested in the product, and show commitment to buy it, so it definitely convinced me that I can sell the first 100 pieces without extra efforts to advertise it.

Right on. I think the pedal looks great, but to be honest, that's not entirely important to me.

I think we all should shut our mouths and just be glad that this is even happening. I could care less about what It looks like.

I mostly agree with this, but I don't think it means that discussing the looks is completely off limits.
Personally, I know it's a little different, but I like it. Far better than some sort of "metal" skull and bones etch or something like that.
Of course, I am literally an astronomer, so I might be biased.

Sorry, came off rather harsh!
I just know once one person says 'oh that's ugly.' Then the next guy complains, then another, then the guy building it gets frustrated and abandons the whole thing.
I'm just saying, it might not mean anything but negativity spreads and this is one project id hate to see get drama'ed.

This is very exciting. Effects??? I wasn't expecting that, that will be a huge bonus.
About the demos:
tracking seems good. However, none of the demos have a quick envelop run from very low to high to very low again. It seems th sensitivity on al the posted demos it relatively high. I would like to hear a more dynamic example with a deep and percussive bass patch. One of the things I was pleasantly surprised to hear from the Sy-300 was the tracking on slap bass, it ould be great to get a slap demo from FI prototype.
I would like to hear the harminizer from the original flow diagram if still in the design. I would also like to hear one of those deliciously cheesy slow AD envelope sweeps with high resonance if possible.
If such examples never pop up, I'll volunteer to make them once(if) I get a chance to ouch it in person

Personally, i rather pay $10-20 dollar more to have a metal pedal then a plastic case, there is a reason why i didnt bother to put the zoom b1on on my board.
